Dr. Tony Nguyen

Dr. Nguyen is a native Oklahoman and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology-Biomedical Sciences at the University of Oklahoma before obtaining his medical degree at the OU College of Medicine. Dr. Nguyen completed his internship in Internal Medicine in Tulsa before finishing his dermatology training at the University of Kansas School of Medicine.

Seeking warmer weather, Dr. Nguyen made his way to Houston where prior to joining Village Dermatology, he served for years as Assistant Professor in the Dermatology department at MD Anderson Cancer Center and McGovern Medical School at UTHealth, where he received the Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award.

Dr. Nguyen practices general and medical dermatology, as well as dermatologic surgery, with particular interests in acne, atopic dermatitis (eczema), hidradenitis suppurativa, immunobullous (blistering) diseases, psoriasis, and skin cancer prevention.

In addition, Dr. Nguyen enjoys treating pediatric patients, with said patients comprising a major part of his previous practice. This interest was cultivated by his residency program's strong emphasis on pediatric dermatology training.

In his free time, Dr. Nguyen enjoys spending time with his wife (Dr. Loan Nguyen, a Complex Care pediatrician at Texas Children's Hospital) and daughter, whether it be traveling together, trying new restaurants, or playing with their two Westies Stitch and Scout.

Dr. Nguyen is a board certified dermatologist and fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He holds membership in the Houston Dermatological Society, Harris County Medical Society, Texas Dermatological Society, Texas Medical Association, and American Medical Association.

Dr. Nguyen is fluent in Vietnamese.
