Clear and Brilliant Laser

The Clear and Brilliant / Permea System lasers can improve your skin tone and texture after a single treatment. Your skin will look and feel smoother, cleaner, and tighter. With additional treatments, you will start to notice softening of fine lines and wrinkles, pore size reduction, clearance of pigmentation, and an all-over luminosity to the skin. Six treatments have been shown to yield optimal results. However, every patient’s skin is different and has different needs. Our trained experts at Village Dermatology in Katy and Memorial will be able to guide you as to how many treatments will help you achieve the best results!

Pre and Post Care Instructions

Prior to Treatment:

  • Avoid excess sun exposure or sunburns

  • If you are using a retinoid, it is best to hold this for about a week

  • Inform us if you have a history of cold sore, or have taken Accutane (oral acne medication) in the last 6 months.

  • If you are using a skin brightener (hydroquinone, Alastin), you may continue these and all other skincare products

Immediately After:

  • Clean your face with a gentle cleanser

  • Apply CE Ferulic, then a gentle moisturizer, and sunscreen (SPF 50+)

  • You may wear makeup if needed

  • Ice packs can help if your skin feels hot

  • Your skin may look red and feel warm. If you have been using Retin-A or tretinoin for a long time, the redness might be slightly more pronounced. This redness will fade within 24 hours.

First Few Days:

  • Continue cleansing and moisturizing daily. You may reapply moisturizer throughout the day as needed for the dryness

  • Always apply sunscreen: 20 minutes before going outside, reapply every 2 hours

  • Your skin may feel rough, like sandpaper. This is normal as the dead skin cells prepare to come off. The texture can last for 3-5 days. Do NOT use any scrubs or exfoliants — let your skin heal naturally

First Week:

  • Keep the treated area clean

  • Avoid smoking, excessive alcohol, intense exercise, swimming, and heat exposure

  • Do not use scrubs, toners, glycolic acid, or retinoids as these can irritate your skin

After the peeling is complete, you may resume your normal skin care and make-up products as tolerated.
